Ha Ling Peak
What's the hardest hike you've ever gone on?
Weeeeell, let me tell you about Ha Ling Peak. Located in the Canadian Rockies, at an elevation of 7,897, I can certainly say this was the hardest hike to date that I've ever summited.

In fact, I was quite sure I had a zero percent chance of actually making it to the top... at least, that's what the boys led us girls to believe. I hiked it with my brother Jesse and our friends Zac and Emily. So side note, Jesse and Zac are avid hikers and quite frankly weren't in the mood to wait for Emily and I to keep up haha. We had already done several hikes that week where they gladly slowed their pace for us. But not this hike - this was their hike. So we said, "Hey, no worries. Ya'll have fun. We'll just try to make it as far as we can, and if an hour and half goes by and we're still not at the top, go ahead and start coming back towards us... but just leave us a can of bear spray" lol.
So Emily and I took our leisure time, not feeling too pressured and stopping for quick breaks whenever we felt we needed them. And to our pleasant surprise, we eventually cleared the woods and started seeing the peak in sight! We couldn't believe that we were actually going to make it to the top before seeing the guys coming back down!

And to our amazement, once we got a little closer towards the top, we could actually see Jesse and Zac enthusiastically waving from afar. Their faces were PRICELESS!! It's like I've never seen my brother more impressed with me in my entire life!!! Honestly, seeing their blown-away facial expressions as we reached the summit in only 15-20 mins after them was almost my favorite part of the entire struggle LOL. 📷
But of course, it was only a close second to these BREATHTAKING views!

These 360 views were truly the best hiking views I've seen to date! If you're ever in Alberta, put Ha Ling Peak at the top of your bucketlist! Just bring your trekking poles, some bear spray and lots of water!
