Affordable Wedding Dresses in Lynchburg, Virginia: Church Street Bridal Review

But the prices, my gosh the prices! I don't know about you, but I had a pit in my stomach thinking about spending an outrageous amount of money on a dress I would only wear for less than a day. However, I also wasn't willing to settle for something I wasn't in love with. I mean, it is my wedding, not prom.

But after seeing some of the average prices of dresses in the bridal salons I visited, I quickly realized that my dream dress might not be within the price range I was comfortable with.

Ah, but that's where Church Street Bridal came to the rescue. Though I like to think I have great taste, I'm really what they call, bargain boujee. I pride myself in always finding a way to snag an incredible deal!

So, if you've never heard of Church Street Bridal in Lynchburg, VA, you're in for a treat. They receive donated sample gowns that have been tried on by other brides but have never been worn by a bride on their special day! These gorgeous wedding dresses are donated from full-service bridal shops, like Kleinfeld’s in New York and Jenny Yoo in New York/Chicago. Church Street Bridal then discounts the sample gowns from their original retail price, so brides can expect to see dresses ranging in prices from $200 to $600! My own wedding gown had an original price tag of $1,700! I couldn't believe my ears when they told me the steeply discounted price they wanted for it!

As soon as I heard about Church Street Bridal from a different bride who also found her gown there, I wasted no time and headed there as soon as I could — no appointment necessary. Since I had no idea what to expect and knew they received new donations periodically, I didn't actually think I was going to find what I was looking for the first time I went and had planned on going several times to check back. But, to my pleasant surprise, I walked out of Church Street Bridal with my wedding dress in hand and only tried on several dresses before I found "the one"!

I truly had the most incredible experience there from the moment I arrived. I was greeted by a bridal consultant who was so sweet and attentive to what I was looking for. She went around and selected the dresses she thought I would like based on my preferences, and answered all the questions I had!

Another aspect that I absolutely loved was knowing that the proceeds from Church Street Bridal go to an incredible cause, specifically to benefit the YWCA’s Domestic Violence Prevention Program (DVPP) and Sexual Assault Response Program (SARP). They support women and children in desperate need of advocacy and services right within Central Virginia!

All that to say, my wedding day turned out to be an incredible success — and within budget — thanks to the help of Church Street Bridal! I'm so glad to support such an incredible organization who is giving back to the community in more ways than one!
